Description

The Old Hall is a 17th century building located on Upper Green Place in Great Bowden. It is constructed of coursed ironstone and features a steeply pitched stone slate roof, with end and off-centre chimneys. The building stands 2 ½ storeys tall and includes three dormers. There is a gabled, two-storey off-centre porch and four windows, which are a mix of sashes and casements with glazing bars. The entrance door is adorned with a moulded stone architrave, keystone, and fanlight. At the rear, there is a lower gabled end wing that is also 2 ½ storeys high and has one gabled dormer. The windows on this wing include two-storey modern bays, while the north side features a red brick 19th century wall and wing with four windows, which are a combination of modern and early 19th century styles, also with glazing bars.
