Description
This is a bridge over the River Avon, built around the late 18th century. It is made of dressed stone and ashlar, with some parts rebuilt in red brick. The bridge features four elliptical arches with ashlar voussoirs. The south side was later rebuilt in brick above the arches during the 19th century, and the piers were also repaired in brick. The carriageway is narrow, measuring about 6 feet 6 inches wide, and is covered in turf. This bridge was replaced by a new bridge immediately to the south in 1844.
