Description
No. 1 Uppingham Road is a house that dates largely from the early 17th century, although it has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays. The central bay contains a five-panelled door with an overlight, flanked by two canted shop windows, with a central doorway to the right. To the left of the door, there is a three-light stone mullioned window with ovolo moulding, followed by the brick bay of No. 5, which abuts the building. On the first floor, there are two three-light stone mullioned windows and a tall two-light wood mullioned window to the right. A sundial is positioned above the door, and the house has coped gables and gable end stacks.
