Description
Numbers 6 and 8 and Cobblers Cottage are a house, now divided into two dwellings. The facade dates from the late 18th or early 19th century, while the rear range is earlier. The front facade of Cobblers Cottage and No. 8 is brick with a Welsh slate roof. The rear of No. 6 is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, with brick at first floor level, and has a concrete tiled roof.
The main elevation of the central, three-storey block features two twelve-light sash windows on each floor, and six-light sash windows in the attic. All the windows have flat-arched, gauged brick heads and moulded architraves. The flanking single-storey pavilions contain six-panelled doors and bow windows. A rear range to No. 6 is of ironstone rubble, with brick at first floor level and a concrete tiled roof, and has a doorway and window beneath a single lintel, with a three-light casement window above. A modern extension obscures part of the right-hand side. The building has a baffle entry plan and a single axial stack.
