Description
Nos. 35 and 37 Market Place is a house that has been converted into two shops and store rooms. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone some alterations. The exterior features painted render, a Welsh slate roof, and a rubble chimney. The building has three low storeys and a two-window range. There is a 20th-century iron grille at the low central passage opening, with small plain shop fronts on either side. Each shop front has a door on the left; the left side features slender mullions and a plain fascia, while the right side has similar mullions and a sloping fascia that may cover 19th-century details. The windows are cross-casement style, with three lights in No. 37 and two lights on the second floor of No. 35, while the first floor of No. 35 also has three lights. The roof is topped with a tall chimney at the right end. Inside, the rear wing of No. 37 contains a beam with run-off chamfer.
