Description
Quenby Lodge Farmhouse is a house dated 1775, constructed from red and buff brick in a chequer pattern, with a rubble stone plinth and a roof made of Welsh and Swithland slate, featuring a parapet in parts. The brick end stacks are present, and the main facade faces the rear. The building has two storeys with three windows; on both floors, there are two-light windows with top lights, featuring gauged brick cambered lintels with keystones.
In the slightly projecting central section, there is a Venetian window consisting of three lights. The stone lintels over the side lights are carved with capitals, and the central rounded brick arch has a keystone. Below this window, there is a moulded stone doorcase with pilasters and a pediment, which holds a part-glazed door. The facade is adorned with a painted wooden cornice that is bracketted and also serves as the parapet. Above the central section, there is a pediment with a similar cornice. The tympanum features a partly openwork stone cartouche with a carved coat of arms at its center.
Additionally, there are two-storey wings on either end of the facade, and the date 1775 is carved in the tympanum of the doorcase.
