Description
The Manor House, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof at the front and Swithland slate at the rear. This two-storey house with an attic has a T-plan layout. The main entrance is centrally located in a gabled porch that is coped and dated 1882. The flanking windows are likely from the same period, with a tall three-light stone mullion window on the left and a timber window on the right. The upper windows consist of plain chamfered stone mullions, with configurations of three and two lights, probably dating to the 17th century.
To the right, there is a projecting coped gabled wing that includes a four-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor and a four-light mullioned and transomed window above, along with two-light windows in the attic. The side elevation features additional two and three-light stone mullioned windows, as well as some single windows set in chamfered stone surrounds. A massive stone stack is present on the wing.
Adjoining the house to the east is a boundary wall made of coursed rubble, topped with cobble and tile coping, which includes a small gateway with steps leading to the garden.
