Description
26 London Road is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a moulded brick cornice and stands three storeys high, with three casement windows on the first and second floors. The first floor windows have top lights, and there is a central opening three-light window flanked by two-light windows. The windows are adorned with rusticated stone lintels that have triple keystones.
On the ground floor, there is a four-light canted bay window on either side of a mid-19th century gabled porch. The door is six-panelled, with the upper two panels being glazed, and it is topped by a fanlight featuring fine glazing bars. The doorcase is accentuated with an open pediment. To the right end of the house, there is a rectangular sashed bay window with a 2/2 sash above and an attic window with 14 panes. At the rear, there are two wings that are 2.5 storeys high.
