Description

The Vicarage is an 18th-century vicarage. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with a Swithland slate and black glazed pantile roof, featuring a brick ridge and end stacks. The building faces to the right and overlooks the Churchyard of St. Cuthbert. The front has two gables, and is two and a half storeys high. On the left gable are two 1st-floor 2-light wooden mullion and transom windows. Above these is a 2-light casement window, and on the ground floor a canted bay with three 6/6 sash windows. A gabled glazed porch shelters a 6-panelled front door, with the upper four panels glazed and an overlight, the glazing bars of which form a diamond pattern. The right gable has an attic 1-light casement window. The right end features two 8/8 sash windows above two 8/8 sashes and a canted bay with 6/6 sash windows. A band and cemented plinth runs along the base of the building.
