Description

Bassets is a house located in Great Glen, dating from around 1800 and extended around 1900. It is constructed of red brick and features a twin span roof made of Welsh slate, with brick stacks at the ends. The building has a painted stone sill band, cornice, and a narrow parapet. The left third of the front was added around 1900. The house is two storeys high and has three sash windows on each floor, arranged as 8/8, 6/6, and 8/8, all with cambered lintels. The central entrance features a wooden doorcase with pilasters and an entablature, with the cornice forming a canopy above. The door is a six-panelled design with an overlight, where the glazing bars create rectangles and squares.
