Description

Rupert’s Rest is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century to the front facade. The front elevation was stuccoed in the 19th century, and the walls are otherwise colourwashed brick, finished with a moulded brick cornice and string course. The roof is slate, with colourwashed brick end stacks. The house is gabled, with its front facing to the left. It has two and a half storeys, featuring three two-over-two sash windows on each floor. A central wooden doorcase supports a flat canopy held up by carved consoles, and houses a part-glazed door. A glazed conservatory extends from the left end, while a two-light wooden mullion and transom window sits in the attic at the right end. Extensions are present at the rear of the property.
