Description
South View is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with extensions likely added in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features a mix of timber framing, whitewashed brick, and mud nogging, topped with a thatch roof and two whitewashed brick ridge stacks. The gable faces the front to the left, and the cottage consists of two ranges, each two storeys high, with the left range being timber framed.
On the first floor of the left range, there are two 3-light leaded casements on the left and a 2-light casement on the right. The ground floor has a 2-light leaded casement, a door, and another similar 2-light casement. The first floor also displays two bays of close studded timber framing. The right range features leaded casements, including a 3-light and a 2-light over a 4-light bow, as well as a 2-light casement and a door. The rear of the cottage also has casements and similar timber framing.
