Description

This is an 18th-century house, originally five cottages, that was altered in the early 19th century. It now functions as a cottage and post office. The building is constructed of whitewashed rendered brick, with a thatched roof and Welsh slate to the ridge, featuring three brick stacks. It comprises three ranges; the range to the left has one and a half storeys, while the ranges to the right are two storeys high. The left range has four two-light casement windows with Y tracery. A plank door is located far to the right. Four eyebrow dormers are set just below the eaves. The central range has a central-opening three-light casement window on both floors. The right range features two two-light casements over a part-glazed door, a three-light horizontal sliding sash window, a three-light casement, and a part-glazed door. Cambered lintels are present over the ground-floor windows in the central and right ranges, with a band running partially on the right range. The right-hand end wall is reportedly constructed of mud in part. Inside, there are chamfered beams.
