Description
The Manor Farmhouse is a house dated 1650 with 18th century additions, located on the west side of Burton Overy Back Lane. It features a timber-framed first floor that is faced with red brick, while the ground floor is made of coursed rubble stone. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and has a left center moulded stone ridge stack. The building stands 2 and a half storeys high and includes two centre-opening three-light casement windows above a wooden doorcase that has a door and a flat bracketed canopy supported by two iron brackets. There is also a three-light wooden mullion and transom window, along with a five-light canted bay window. On the left end, there is a canted four-light bay, a three-light casement window, and an attic one-light window, as well as a one and a half storey wing at the rear. Inside, the farmhouse features beams with stop-chamfers, an 18th century oak staircase with turned balusters, wide floorboards, a four-centred arched fireplace, and a moulded beam inscribed with 'R.F.A. 1650 W.M.' in reference to Robert and Anne Freeman.
