Description

This is a cottage, likely dating from the 16th or 17th century, with a 20th-century facade. It is constructed of granite and slate rubble stone. Inside, two pairs of original cruck blades are visible. The front features applied fake timber framing and a thatched roof with a central ridge and end stacks. The windows are leaded light casements. A thatched open porch is positioned centrally on the right-hand side, leading to a cross passage. There are two small 20th-century canted bays on the left side, along with a single-light and a two-light casement to the right. Two dormers, each with two lights, are situated above. A further two-light and a three-light casement are present on the left end, with a three-light casement above. The ground floor is of rubble stone with brick dressings and a gable featuring close-studding, probably applied later. An outshut with a Swithland slate roof is located on the right end, containing two two-light casements and a single-light casement within the gable. Timber framing is probably applied to the outshut. The rear of the building has outshuts, a door, and casements. Internally, two inglenooks with hoods and chamfered beams are visible, along with the original cruck blades.
