Description
No. 8 Causeway Lane is a cottage dating from the 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed of rendered granite, slate rubble stone, and brick, topped with a thatched roof featuring a central ridge stack. The building is 1½ storeys tall with the gable end facing the street. There is a door to the right that is sheltered by a Swithland slate canopy, and to the left, there is a small 20th-century canted bay window with leaded light casements. The left side of the cottage has a 3-light and a 1-light casement window, while the right side features two 2-light casements. Inside, there are visible chamfered beams and some timbers from the single purlin roof, along with a tie beam, a casement, a door, and a small later extension at the rear.
