Description
The Parish Room, which was formerly an Infant School, dates back to 1847. It is constructed of coursed squared granite with stone dressings and features a Swithland slate roof topped with a small central louvre. Designed in the Tudor style, it includes hood moulds and shouldered terracotta-coped gables with kneelers. The building is a single storey and has two 3-light centre-opening casements, with a central projecting gable. The Tudor arched doorway is adorned with a hood mould that has head stops, and it features a 4-panelled door. Above the door, there is a stone tablet carved with a shield inscribed 'L 1847' and an earl's coronet above it. In front of the building, there are stone piers and low walls with iron railings, along with a pair of gates. The railings and gates are topped with spear head finials, and there is an iron arch over the gates.
