Description

This is an 18th-century cottage, extended in the 20th century and located on The Green in Mountsorrel. The original section is constructed of rendered granite rubble stone with a plinth, and has a Swithland slate front roof and a rear roof of Welsh slate and 20th-century tiles. Brick end stacks are present. The front elevation features two storeys with two 2/2 sash windows. To the left is a 20th-century red brick extension containing a glazed door and a 2/2 sash window above. Internally, the cottage features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, chamfered purlins to the roof, and an inglenook with a hood. It is believed that the cottage was formerly the Apple Tree Inn.
