Description

The Grange is a farmhouse, built in 1704, with later additions from the early to mid-18th century. It comprises a central block and two gabled projections to the north, constructed of rubble stone with Swithland slate and plain tile roofs. Brick ridge stacks are present, along with a rainwater head marking the junction between the gables. A 19th-century porch is located on the left-hand projection, and both 19th and 20th-century windows are incorporated in the design. A south range is built of brick with a hipped Swithland slate roof and brick end stacks. This range is two storeys high, with a three-window double-fronted facade. It has deep eaves, a gabled door hood supported by brackets, and a radiating fanlight above the doorway. The windows have rubbed brick heads and brick hood moulds, with 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor and a 12-pane sash window on the first floor in the central position.
