Description
15 Churchgate is a house dating from the 17th century, which was enlarged in the late 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a granite plinth, although the exterior is now rendered. There is a later brick wing added to the north. The roofs are made of concrete and plain tiles, with a brick stack at the north end. The original 17th-century block has one storey and an attic, as well as two storeys, and includes a jettied west gable end. The roof structure consists of collar and tie-beams. The windows were replaced in the 20th century. The north wing is two storeys high and has one range of windows, which are three-light casement windows with glazing bars. The floors throughout the building are made of reed and plaster.
