Description
Motorex is a shop, betting office, and cottage that was formerly a range of stockinger's workshop and cottages, dating from the late 18th century. The building features a rendered exterior with brick dentilled eaves in part, and it has pantile and Swithland slate roofs with a brick ridge stack. The gable faces the street.
It is two storeys high and has a 12-light casement window with top lights above a 20th-century glazed door. The side of the building facing the alleyway has three ranges: one storey and two storeys, with the range whose gable faces Woodgate on the left. This left range contains three 2-light horizontal sliding sash windows on both floors.
The one-storey range has a Swithland slate roof and features two wide but low 5-light windows, with the central light being a horizontal sliding sash. These windows were originally for the stockinger's workshop and are a rare survival. Similar windows can be found at the rear of this range. The range to the right has a similar roof and includes two 2/2 sashes above one similar window.
