Description

A row of four cottages located on Main Street in Queniborough, dating to the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of brick, with Welsh slate roofs. Each cottage is two stories high and has a single-unit plan, featuring a doorway and a three-light, horizontally sliding sash window on the ground floor, and a two-light casement window above. All the window and door openings have cambered brick heads. The upper lights of the sash windows are decorated with decorative Gothic tracery. Some rear windows also have this decorative detailing. Cottages 26 and 28 retain their original planked doors. Paired, moulded brick axial stacks are present, along with a stack on the right-hand gable. Behind cottage 28 is a single-story, single-bay extension from the later 19th century, built of brick with a Swithland slate roof and featuring a canted bay window with elaborate ornamental iron glazing bars.
