Description

These are a pair of estate cottages, now combined into a single dwelling, dating to approximately 1840. They are built of red brick with sandstone ashlar detailing. The roof is covered in Welsh slate, with a north-facing twin gable and a south-facing hipped section. A large, rendered stack is centrally positioned. The gables are coped, featuring moulded kneelers and square finials. The north elevation, with two bays, has two stone cross windows on each floor, set within deep, chamfered surrounds, featuring diamond glazing. The side elevations incorporate segment-headed windows and doorways. It is believed that the stone used for the front of the cottages was sourced from the old parish church, which was demolished around 1840.
