Description

A terrace of seven almshouses built in 1772 in the parish of Ticknall. The buildings are constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and have a plain tile roof, stone coped gables with plain kneelers, brick gable stacks, and three ridge stacks. The west elevation is symmetrical, comprising one bay, a central advanced bay with a pediment, and four bays. The central bay features a 20th-century gabled brick porch, flanked by wooden cross windows beneath wedge brick lintels. To the left are a doorway, two windows, two doorways, and a window, mirroring the arrangement to the right. All openings are under wedge brick lintels. The doors have three triangular-headed panels, and the windows are cross casements. There are nine similar windows on the first floor as well. A stone panel within the pediment is inscribed with the date 1772 and the dedication.
