Description

The ruins of the old parish church, located about 45 yards south of the chancel of the new church in Ticknall, date back to around 1300. Constructed from coursed squared sandstone and ashlar, the surviving structure includes the lower part of the east wall, which features a complete three-light window with intersecting tracery. Additionally, there is the beginning of a return wall to the northwest. This church was destroyed by explosives around 1840 when the new church was constructed to the north.
