Description
The Wheel Public House is an early 19th-century public house located on Main Street in Ticknall. It is constructed of red brick, which has been painted on the north side, and features a plain tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a distinctive sawtooth eaves cornice and stands three storeys tall. The north elevation has two bays, with an off-centre doorway that is set beneath a flat arch and features a raised and fielded panelled door. This doorway is flanked by segment-headed casements, which were originally three-light windows but have been replaced with 20th-century four-light casements. Above the doorway, there are two sets of three-light segment-headed casements, each with flat arches.
