Description
Hollinknoll is a house built in 1745 and extended in 1903. It is constructed of coursed gritstone, featuring flush dressings and rusticated quoins, with a stone slate roof. The building has stone gable end and ridge stacks, along with stone copings, kneelers, and scroll brackets on the 1903 wing. The house is two storeys high with a double fronted facade and a later projecting crosswing to the west.
On the south elevation, there is a central round headed doorcase with a projecting keystone. The porch is recessed and leads to an inner door that has a re-used moulded architrave and a carved lintel dated 1593. Flanking the door are three-light flush mullion windows, with similar windows located above. There is a datestone above the door indicating the year 1745, along with a small glazing bar sash. The western crosswing, which dates from 1903, features a tripartite window with a heavily moulded architrave, divided by stone columns. Above this is a Venetian window with a similar architrave.
