Description
Chapel-en-le-Frith Station is a station and house built in 1867 by Edward Walters. It is constructed from coursed, squared rock-faced gritstone with ashlar quoins and features a slate roof with overhanging eaves. The building has rock-faced stone ridge stacks topped with a decorative cornice. It is designed in an L-plan with a single-storey wing and a two-storey crosswing, comprising three bays.
On the north elevation, there is a shallow plinth and a centrally placed tripartite sash window with a shallow curved voussoired arch above it, located in the two-storey western section. To the east of this window is a similar one, and further east, slightly recessed, are double panelled doors with a similar arched head and a single light sash above. To the west, there are twin semi-circular headed sashes, and a gable above that was formerly pedimented.
