Description
This building, originally a house and stables, dates back to 1669 and was converted into a house in 1990. It is constructed from irregular coursed millstone grit with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The original plan was for a single unit dwelling with attached stables.
The exterior is two storeys high with irregular window placements. The front has a tall central doorway with a chamfered ashlar surround and a 20th-century door. To the left, there is a boarded window and a blocked doorway with a large lintel that has the inscription 'EH/ 1669'. To the right, a 20th-century casement window has been inserted into what was once a doorway. Above the boarded window on the left is a plain sash window on the right.
On the left side of the building, there is an inserted doorway with a plank door to the right, and above it, there are blocked openings in the apex of the gable and another to the left. The rear elevation is blank.
Inside, the building features "keeping places" within the walls of both units and an iron tethering ring in the former stable, where purlins rest on the side walls. The stable was used as a slaughterhouse at one time.
