Description
No. 6 Church View is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century but was extensively rebuilt in the 1980s. The structure features a square panel timber frame with corner braces at the top and 20th-century brick nogging. It has a plain tile roof with a central brick stack on the rear pitch. The building is two storeys high and consists of three and a half bays.
On the main elevation, there is a 20th-century lean-to brick porch at the southern end, which includes a 20th-century casement window facing east and a door facing north. To the north of the porch, there is a 2-light 20th-century casement window, followed by a 20th-century plank door. Attached to the northern end of the house is a single-storey addition that also features 20th-century casement windows. Above this addition, there are two 2-light 20th-century casements and a single light window in the centre.
The south gable wall has been completely rebuilt, while the rear wall retains its original timber frame with 20th-century brick nogging and 20th-century windows. Inside, the farmhouse has a large inglenook fireplace with the original stack and some exposed timber work. The roof is a simple single purlin design with wind braces.
