Description
No. 51 Low Road is a former farmhouse dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of brick, flint, and colourwashed render, topped with a pantiled roof. The building has a 'T' shaped plan and stands two storeys high, featuring a continuous outshut and a 20th-century lean-to porch on the north side. There is a cross wing at the west end.
The south facade has three windows, while the gable wall of the cross wing is windowless. At the first floor, there are two 20th-century casement windows, and at ground level, there is a three-light transomed casement window and a half-glazed 20th-century door. The west elevation displays irregular fenestration, including a three-light casement window in a wider blocked 17th-century opening at the first floor, sash windows with glazing bars and flat brick arches, and a two-light casement window at ground level. The roof is steeply pitched and features 20th-century roof lights. An axial stack is located on the southwest gable. Additionally, there is a cast iron pump attached to the north wall near the porch.
