Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring vitrified headers in Flemish bond, along with brick dressings, a plinth, and bands on the first and second floors. The roof is a shallow pitched slate roof from the mid-19th century, topped with two large brick ridge stacks. The building has two storeys plus garrets and consists of three bays.
The central entrance features an early 19th-century doorcase with a cambered head, which contains a 20th-century glazed door set in a moulded surround. On either side of the door are early 19th-century glazing bar sash windows, also under cambered heads. Above, there are two similar windows on each side and a narrow central window fitted with 20th-century fixed lights. The side elevation also has similar glazing bar sash windows.
Inside, the farmhouse boasts an early 18th-century dogleg staircase with three knopped balusters on each step, the central one being fluted, and scrolled cheekpieces. One of the ground floor rooms features early 18th-century raised and fielded panelling, with contemporary cupboards flanking a later fireplace. All ground floor rooms have six-panelled early 18th-century doors and central moulded beams.
