Description

Risleyhall Farmhouse and the attached barn were built in 1806, with some later alterations. The farmhouse is constructed of rendered brick and features a graduated slate roof that is hipped on the north side. It has a brick gable stack on the south side and a large brick ridge stack on the rear pitch of the roof, both of which are adorned with a dentilled eaves band. The house is three storeys high and consists of three bays. The central entrance has a segment-headed doorcase with a 20th-century panelled door and a plain overlight. This is flanked by segment-headed windows that contain 20th-century two-light timber cross casement windows. On the upper floors, there are three similar windows, and above these, segment-headed two-light casements are positioned on either side of a blocked central opening.

The barn is made of coursed squared stone with flush quoins and has red brick at the top where the eaves have been raised. It features a slate roof with a dentilled eaves band. The barn has a nearly full-height central opening and slit breathers on either side. Additionally, there is a boarded 19th-century pump adjacent to the south side of the barn. Inside the farmhouse, the ground floor rooms have large central chamfered beams.
