Description

The barn to the east of Manor Farmhouse is a mid-18th century threshing barn that has been converted into a workshop. It features red brick construction with a plain tile roof and a later external brick chimney at the south end of the west elevation. The barn is single storey and consists of three bays. The east elevation has a prominent, off-center set of full-height doors, with a later single-storey cowbyre attached to the north. On the south side, there are two inserted 20th-century windows positioned low, above a line of cross breathers. The west elevation also has a similar line of breathers and an area of later brickwork that includes a segment-headed doorcase opposite the double doors. Inside, the barn contains three simple collared trusses with wind braces made from reused timber, and the wall plates and purlins are also made from reused materials. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
