Description

This railway bridge, built in 1839 by engineer C B Vignoles, is located on Town End Road in the parish of Draycott and Church Wilne. It is constructed from red brick with stone dressings. The bridge features a single wide, semi-circular brick arch with plain spandrels, a plain stone band above, and brick parapets topped with stone copings. The walls splay outward at each end and terminate in square piers. This structure is part of the Midland Railway and has undergone some later repairs.
