Description

The cartshed and stable at Draycott Mills, now used as a garage and store, dates from around 1840 to 1850. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features slate and corrugated asbestos roofs with coped gables. The building is single-storey and consists of three bays. The front has a gable with dentillated eaves and mid-20th century garage doors. On the left side, there are two small blocked windows. The center bay includes an elliptical arched cart opening with renewed doors. The lower rear section has blocked windows and doors. This structure is part of a larger site historically used for the manufacture of cotton and lace and is noted for its group value.
