Description
Morleymoor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century and 1823. It is constructed of brick and gritstone, topped with a plain tile roof featuring brick gable stacks on the north side. The building has two storeys and includes a stone plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a moulded stone eaves band. The east elevation is symmetrical with three bays. The central entrance features a moulded stone doorcase with fluted pilasters and a pediment, which contains a 20th-century glazed door and overlight. On either side of the entrance are French windows with rectangular overlights, all set beneath channelled wedge stone lintels. The first floor has three single bar sash windows, also under channelled wedge stone lintels. The window lintels and doorcase are painted. Inside, there is an early 19th-century open string staircase with stick balusters surrounding a square well, topped with a wreathed handrail.
