Description
The Croft is a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. They are constructed from coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings and have a plain tile roof. The cottages are arranged in a T-plan and rise to two storeys.
The east elevation features two bays. There is a blocked three-light chamfered mullion window with a hoodmould. To the right, there is a doorway with a Tudor arch and a moulded stone surround, which contains a 19th-century door and is enclosed within a lean-to conservatory. Further to the right is a two-light casement window, which was formerly a mullion window, also with a chamfered stone surround. Above this, there is a similar window, and to the left, a blocked two-light chamfered mullion window.
The south elevation has two bays, with a projecting gabled bay on the right. This bay contains a two-light casement window on each floor, featuring stone lintels, sills, and jambs, with the lower window having a hoodmould. The left bay has two similar windows and a Tudor arched doorway with a chamfered surround and a 20th-century door. Inside, the cottages have exposed beams.
