Description
Liley House is a house built in 1804, with later alterations in the 19th century. It was constructed as part of the Moravian Settlement. The building is made of red brick, featuring ashlar and gauged brick dressings, and has a steeply pitched slate roof with brick coped gables to the north and brick gable stacks, along with a plain eaves band. The house has three storeys and two bays. There is a short flight of steps leading up to an off-centre glazed panelled door, which is set beneath a wedge stone lintel, with a wreathed iron handrail on either side. To the south, there is a large segmental brick archway with a stone keystone that runs through the house. To the north, there is a tripartite glazing bar sash window under a gauged brick flat arch. A similar window is located above, featuring an ordinary glazing bar sash under a similar flat arch to the south. Above these, there are two shallow tripartite glazing bar sashes positioned just below the eaves. Inside, the house has a stick baluster staircase.
