Description

Glebe House is a 17th-century house with 19th-century additions, originally listed as the Post Office. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings, and has a plain tile roof with stone ridge tiles. There are two gable-end stacks, one of brick. The house is arranged in an L-shape, with two storeys and four bays, with a later gabled projection that includes a 17th-century three-light chamfered mullion window. A doorcase with a 20th-century glazed door is present, along with a string course at first-floor level. To the east are three recessed and chamfered mullion windows, now all two-light, but formerly three-, two-, and four-light. A doorcase with stone quoins and lintel is situated at the extreme east. Above the recessed mullion windows are two iron-glazing-bar casements. To the east of the main house is a 19th-century single-storey addition.
