Description

Swiers Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, potentially with an earlier core. It is constructed of coursed limestone with quoins and flush gritstone dressings. The roof is covered with plain tiles, featuring stone coped gables and kneelers. There are two stacks, a large one positioned off-centre and another in the gable end. The farmhouse is three bays wide and two storeys high, with attic space. A later rear addition extends from the main structure under a catslide roof. The south elevation features a doorcase with a massive stone lintel, which has been subsequently blocked by a 2-light casement window. Two 3-light mullioned windows are positioned to the west, with a later door inserted into the westernmost light of the window next to the original doorcase. To the east, there is a 2-light mullioned window and a 20th-century door, partly obscured by a large 20th-century glazed porch. Above, one 2-light and two 3-light mullioned windows are set considerably below the eaves.
