Description
Miners Cottages, formerly known as 'The Cottages', is a house that was originally a pair of lead miners' cottages built in the 18th century. The structure is made of coursed limestone with quoins and features flush gritstone dressings. The east gable wall is constructed of rendered brick, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. There are central and gable end brick stacks, along with a projecting eaves band. The building has two bays and three storeys, with a single-storey addition to the east. On the west side, there are two glazing bar sash windows with projecting sills, positioned next to two doorcases that have flushed dressed stone lintels and jambs, both leading to plank doors. Above these, there are two more glazing bar sashes and two smaller similar windows located at the eaves.
