Description

Kingsford Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Main Street, Carsington. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with flush dressings and quoins, featuring moulded stone copings and kneelers to the gables, and a plain tile roof with brick ridge and gable end stacks. The house is three bays wide and three storeys high, with a lower projection to the west. The principal facade has three two-light flush mullion windows at each floor level, all with casements. An original off-centre doorway was later filled with a glazing bar sash window, retaining a massive stone lintel. A more recent doorway with a 20th-century glazed door has been inserted alongside. Smaller, similarly styled two-light mullion windows are located above the original fenestration.
