Description
This is a cross-shaft dating from the 9th century, made of gritstone and featuring a rectangular section. The west and east sides are adorned with decorative scrolls and vines in relief carving, which include occasional figures of beasts or birds intertwined. The north face displays four pairs of figures situated under round-headed arches, with a single figure beneath an arch at the base. On the south side, there is a depiction of the Crucifixion at the base, while other carvings are too worn to be clearly understood. This cross-shaft is also recognized as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
