Description

The Wayside Cross by Gumstool Bridge is a cross dating from the 14th or 15th century, made of limestone. It features a square base that reduces to an octagonal shape, with large stops at the angles. The base has a single step with nosing. The top of the cross is recessed and supports a tapered octagonal cross shaft, which is broken above a height of 2 meters. This structure is also recognized as an ancient monument.
