Description

Farmbuildings located to the southeast of Sunnyside, dating from the late 17th century and converted in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and feature a slate roof with coped gables and kneelers, as well as an ashlar eaves band and irregular quoins. The structure is two storeys high.

The west wing has a raised southwest gable end with a single upper loft doorway. The southeast front includes a part-blocked doorway, a small window, a boarded door, another small window, and a further boarded door, with a loft doorway above. The east wing, which was formerly a house, has a southwest front featuring a blocked 17th-century, two-light chamfered mullion window on the left, followed by two doorways with massive quoins and a small window beyond. Above, there is another blocked 17th-century, two-light chamfered mullion window to the left and a loft doorway above the right door, also with massive quoins.

On the rear, or northeast front, there is an off-centre seven-step stone staircase that is partly built across a further blocked 17th-century, two-light chamfered mullion window. To the right, there are two doorways under a single wooden lintel, with the right doorway blocked. Above, there is a loft doorway with massive quoins and a tiny window to the right. There is also a single bay addition to the right with a doorway and window above. Some walls attached to the southeast gable have been partly demolished.

Inside, the building contains a 17th-century stone fireplace, chamfered beams, and some reused roof timbers. The former north exterior gable wall has a blocked two-light 17th-century chamfered mullion window and a former external seven-step staircase.
