Description

27 Church Street is an early 19th-century building featuring roughcast walls with a stucco plinth and moulded plaster eaves. It stands three storeys tall and has three windows with intact glazing bars, each adorned with moulded pediments supported by pilaster brackets on the second storey. The lower storey has two windows set in moulded architraves, which have curved pediments, added around 1900. The building also includes a stuccoed Roman arched doorcase with a glazed segment and a cast iron balcony on the first floor. Notably, the occupants have been making fishing tackle since 1763, and there are remains of the original workshop at the rear. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 17 to 41 (odd).
