Description

Nos 24 and 26 on Church Street are two buildings that were originally one house, constructed around 1700 to 1710. The exterior is roughcast with quoins and features moulded plaster eaves beneath an old tiled roof. The stone gabled ends have kneelers. The façade is divided into three bays by giant fluted pilasters topped with Ionic capitals. The building stands three storeys tall and has four sash windows with glazing bars, which are set in moulded stucco architraves with slight cornices. A modern shop front, added in 1930, is located at the western side and is bisected by a pilaster. Nos 12 to 28 (even) form a group with this building.
