Description
The Clergyman's Widows Almshouses, built in the mid-18th century, feature a facade with a rainwater head dated 1768. The almshouses are arranged around three sides of a courtyard that opens to the street. They are constructed of red brick with stone dressings, and have a corbelled stone cornice and a parapet. The roof is not visible. The building has three storeys and is adorned with sash windows that have glazing bars set within moulded stone architraves. There are three moulded stone doorcases, each topped with moulded pediments supported by consoles. The almshouses are part of a group that includes Nos 12 to 28 (even).
