Description

These are two early 18th-century buildings on Church Street. They are constructed of chequered brick with brick eaves and old tile roofing. A double band runs at ground and first-floor lintel height, though the ground-floor band is interrupted. The buildings are three storeys high and have seven windows each, featuring plain keyblocks and painted flat brick arches, generally without bars. A modest weather hood covers the ledged front door. A modern shop occupies the west side, and a 19th-century double-fronted shop with an entablature incorporating a cornice, architrave, and pilasters is also present. Some original glazing bars remain in the windows. Numbers 1 to 15 (odd), together with The Corner House, form a notable group.
